  • The U.S. Economic Development Administration (EDA), a bureau of the Department of Commerce, has announced grant opportunities for any federally declared disaster area in 2017. Projects must have some relationship to the disaster (direct or indirect).  EDA recently announced a new funding opportunity for disaster recovery project activities. No deadline for application. Projects must be related to disaster declared counties;$93,810,000 allocated for West coast;  587 million available nationwide.  On April 10, 2018, EDA released the Disaster Supplemental Notice of Funding Opportunity (NOFO) with general policies and application procedures.  This document can be downloaded here: https://www.grants.gov/web/grants/view-opportunity.html?oppId=302953
  • SAVE Goes Paperless on May 1, 2018:  Beginning May 1, 2018, SAVE will be going electronic! We will no longer process mailed paper submissions of the Form G-845, Documentation Verification Request, or Form G-845, 3rd Step Document Verification Request. Paper forms postmarked May 1, 2018 or after will be returned without a response.   • HUD has recently published a Notice of Funding Availability (NOFA) for Veterans Housing Rehabilitation and Modification (VHRM) Pilot Program HUD’s VHRM pilot program awards grants to nonprofit organizations to rehabilitate and modify the primary residence of veterans who are low-income and living with disabilities. The pilot program will award competitive grants to nonprofit organizations that provide nationwide or statewide programs that primarily serve veterans or low-income individuals. The grants may be used to modify or rehabilitate eligible veterans’ primary residences or to provide grantees’ affiliates with technical, administrative, and training support in connection with those services.
